The initiative group: NGO “Personnel Decide Everything” (Orthodox priest Yaroslav Chopan and local activists Anna Cherednichenko, Marina Blyznyukova, Evgenia Kovalevskaya, Oksana Karpovets-Lysenko)
Where: Nemishayivska hromada, Kyiv region
Result: within the framework of the cooperation, the initiative group not only received additional training on its own sustainability, but also developed and tested a new approach to the holding of the Council on Community Culture and the organization of mass cultural events, which greatly simplified their work.
Two months of occupation by Russian troops in February-March 2022 were a dramatic test of the community's viability. Thanks to the dedication of the initiative group, self-organization and cooperation with others, many residents managed not only to evacuate, but also to survive these tragic days with less loss of loved ones.
Details of cooperation: The facilitators of the DiA focused on the personal recovery of activists who did a lot for the residents and forgot about their own well-being. Together, we worked on topics of professional burnout, emotional devastation, restorative communication with both the community and the family, effective delegation of authority, planning our own actions, etc. An additional task was to facilitate the holding of specialized councils at the village council despite the different views of the participants.
Currently, the community is adapting to the new living conditions after the de-occupation and is working on the transformation of the Community Center “Your Territory” at the parish of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nemishayevo.
